How to set up a Consultation
Setting up a consultation is easy. We offer free phone consultations to address your sugaring needs. Call us anytime during store hours. If an esthetician is available, they will be happy to answer your most pressing questions. We also offer in-person 20 minute assessments and patch tests if you prefer.
What's a Patch Test?
A patch test is when we apply a small amount of sugar to a small area to test for allergic reactions or sensitivities.
Skin Concerns?
If you have sensitive skin, scarring, pimples, or ingrown hairs that are making you apprehensive about trying sugaring, please come by and our licensed estheticians will carefully assess your skin to confirm which areas are safe and suitable for sugaring. We are also more than happy to do a patch test.
Afraid of Allergies?
Allergic reactions can be scary. However, clients are rarely allergic to the paste since it's mainly just water, lemon, and sugar. First-time clients can develop common responses after sugaring that are not allergies.
- Hives: occur in 10 to 25% of new clients. They are histamine responses to hair being pulled from the follicle and most resolve within 24 hours.
- Redness: many new clients will have redness in the sugared area. Hair bulbs are largest when they have never been sugared, leading to redness and mild irritation.
- Pustules: small white pus-filled bumps are a normal healing response, not an infection. They form when hair is extracted, allowing natural skin fluids to collect in the empty follicle. They are itchy, so do not scratch them, as that can prolong their stay. This happens in 5 to 20% of new clients, mainly for curly hair, and can last for 24 to 72 hours.

It's completely normal for young people to become more aware of their appearance as they grow. Often, a child or teen asks for hair removal because they are feeling self-conscious, comparing themselves to peers, or wanting to feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.
- Ages 7+ (Face Services Only): With a guardian present, we offer facial sugaring starting at age 7.
- Ages 10-16 (Body Services): With guardian consent, we can sugar underarms, legs, and full arms. We also offer groin-area sugaring for pre-summer camps, travel, or other situations where long-term comfort is needed.
- Ages 16+ (Full Autonomy with Some Restrictions): At 16, we consider teens mature enough to choose any body area they feel comfortable sugaring. However, all first-time clients under 18 still require parental or guardian approval.
